Utilified is a utility-tech company building the only platform that brings every utility into one unified system.
Founded in Melbourne, we built the Utilified Management System (UMS) to replace the fragmented spreadsheets, manual invoice checks, and disconnected data sources that energy brokers, consultants, and enterprises deal with every day. The platform automates invoice validation against contracted rates and gazetted network tariffs, collects interval meter data across electricity, gas, water, and LPG, and turns raw utility data into clear, actionable intelligence.
We serve two markets — energy consultants and brokers who manage utility portfolios on behalf of clients, and enterprise teams who manage their own multi-site operations. Both deal with the same core problem: utility data is scattered across portals, PDFs, spreadsheets, and email inboxes. UMS brings it into one place, validates it automatically, and makes it useful.

Cohen founded Utilified with a clear thesis: utility management in Australia is broken — fragmented across spreadsheets, email inboxes, and disconnected portals — and the industry deserves purpose-built software.
His background spans the full utility operations stack — invoice validation against gazetted network tariffs and contracted retail rates, interval meter data collection across AEMO and distributor systems, and financial reporting for multi-site energy portfolios. Before founding Utilified, Cohen worked directly with energy brokers and enterprise procurement teams, seeing first-hand how much time and money was lost to manual processes and disconnected data.
That operational experience shaped every design decision in UMS. The platform's 540-point invoice validation engine, its support for NMI and MIRN identifiers across electricity and gas, and its ability to process 420,480 data intervals per meter annually all stem from real problems Cohen encountered — and solved — before writing a single line of code.
Our Approach
We focus on outcomes, not dashboards. Every feature in UMS exists because it solves a measurable problem — reducing invoice processing time by 90%, recovering the 2.5% of energy spend that typically goes overpaid, or eliminating the hours spent manually compiling consumption reports.
We built UMS as a single platform, not a collection of bolted-together tools. Contracting, invoicing, meter data, reporting, and procurement all share the same data layer. When an invoice arrives, it is validated against the contracted rate, the gazetted network tariff, the relevant loss factors, and the actual meter data — automatically, in seconds.
Australian data sovereignty is non-negotiable. All data is stored and processed within Australia, and the platform is built for the specific regulatory and market structures of the Australian energy sector — from AEMO data feeds to state-based tariff schedules and public holiday adjustments.
